• NARM pass - free/discounted entry to 1,300+ museums and cultural institutions, sign up for the digital membership at Oklahoma Art Museum (NARM and ROAM) I get the dual to bring in a stranger/new friend with me.
• AHS pass - reciprocal admission to botanical gardens and arboretums

Navigation & Camp Scouting

• GasBuddy - compare real-time fuel prices; check before crossing into the next state, prices often shift at the line and a quick look can save a few bucks a tank. My Costco credit card paid for itself many times over in just fuel cash back at Costco gas stations but this also depends on the regions you are traveling.
• TruckerPath - overhead clearance data for tight routes. I have had it installed but never run it unless I am in Boston or NYC.
• iOverlander yelp for nomads, potable water, dumps, spots to sleep urban and out in the wild.
• Harvest Hosts, Boondockers Welcome - vetted overnight spots in breweries, wineries, museums, and driveways. I have a referral code if you want it.

Weather & Micro-Climate

• MaxWeather Youtube Channel, broad weather reporting
• MyRadar or FlowX, hyper-local radar tracking
• Park with the van’s rear facing the sun to shield the living space
• Scout shade/tree canopy via Google Maps Satellite View before arriving
• Park along major bodies of water for ambient cooling

• Dual Jackery-style power stations, bridge energy gaps on low-mileage days, use Plugshare (no account necessary) to find random places to charge.

Vehicle Maintenance

• Discount Tire - nationwide tire service coverage, their warranty is worth it and they have replaced several tires
• AAA Plus - long-distance towing, pays for itself after one breakdown, tow, lockout

The Golden Rule

• If a spot doesn’t feel right at 3:00 p.m., it won’t feel better at 3:00 a.m., trust your instinct and move.
